Green Health Drinks Vs Eating Raw Vegetables, Which is better?

With all the health trends and potential fads that are emerging everywhere, naturally debates are going on all over the internet over which is better then what, who`s right and who`s wrong and so on.  Well this article is going to attempt to answer a popular debate (and hopefully a few others as well).

So what is better drinking a Green Health Drink or Eating raw vegetables?  The answer is…BOTH!  They`re complimentary and for optimal health you should really try a combination of both.  To go further into this topic we really have to take a closer look at the two objects up for debate…to start we will look at Raw Vegetables.

Green Vegetables when consumed RAW are the best thing you can give your body (especially if they`re organic) and are necessary for optimal health, we will not debate this as it is a known fact and can be verified everywhere, besides it`s not the focus of this article.  If you`re asking why, well quick answer is that when you cook a vegetable it loses its life force and all its nutrients die.  One of the reasons you need to consume raw vegetables is simple…chlorophyll.  Chlorophyll is the blood of all plants and is what makes them green.  It has nearly the exact same DNA (blood) as humans except one minor difference, the central atom is Iron and humans it Magnesium, though humans still need to intake iron so even in the difference it is hugely beneficial.  So logically it makes sense to consume something that adds life to our blood.  Lastly, raw vegetables have enzymes in them that help us to digest our other food intake, these enzymes increase our body`s ability to process other concentrated foods (meats, rice, potatoes etc…) faster and efficiently so that our body works less and can rest more. The fibre in most raw vegetables are what set it apart from juiced veggies or green drinks.  The fibre that is absorbed into our stomachs go straight to the colon and bowel and are effective cleansers.

Now for Green Drinks, well, we`re going to divide this into two sections, Freshly juiced vegetables and powdered green juices (eg. Greens&#43, Phruits and Pholage, supergreens, etc).  Firstly, if you’re asking what type of machine can i use to make green drinks? these are made using a juicer and are a vital component to your health.  When you make and drink raw foods green drinks the benefits are much the same as eating the vegetable raw however it provides one major advantage it is absorbed into the blood stream instantly through your tongue and other pores as it goes into your system. This is advantages because like mentioned before chlorophyll gives life to your blood and the faster it gets into your system the more optimal.  One of the best juicing recipes is a green kale drink, kale is awesome.  

Secondly we have Powdered green drinks, these provide many of the same benefits as Freshly juiced vegetables and raw vegetables and are a fantastic alternative, especially if you`re on the go and time is an issue.  These are usually a blend of many different veggies and low-sugar fruits and what you do is take a scoop (provided in the containers) and mix it into a glass of water (250ml to 1L or 4oz to 1qu).  The main issue is that these powders lack the same level of electrolytes (life force) that Raw of freshly juiced veggies provide, thus less energy and impact, but still very effective and great for you movers and shakers, some even have added fibre. (word of caution: look at the labels and make sure the dominate ingredients are vegetables and not fruits as you will just be consuming large amounts of suger this way and although natural, sugars of all kinds are destructive to your health, and make sure too that there are no additives, especially `citric acid` just defeats the purpose of drinking it in the first place.)

In conclusion, the debate was green health drinks Vs. eating raw vegetables, like we stated if you`re looking for which is better, it`s really dependant on what you are looking to do.  If you want a cleansing agent, go for raw veggies (especially blended into a soup and eaten raw, it`ll cut right through your system like a dream!) and if you want energy, juice some fresh veg. and get all those electrolytes into your system for a nice boast (even coffee can`t compete with), and for the on the go person Green Powder all the way.
